Wedding, Mexico and married life!

Hellllllo you guys!
I know I know, it's been a minute...or two. May was an insane month! Ahhh, so sad it's over. My husband and I flew to Mexico three days before our wedding and we were in PARADISE!! We stayed at the RIU palace in Cabo San Lucas and it was so beautiful. Because we were the bride and groom they upgraded our room to a two story balcony with a jacuzzi! We drank, ate, and swam until we couldn't anymore! Our families arrived in Mexico just one day after us and let me just say I am one fortunate girl to of married the man I did, and gain the family I now have! This was a first for us to take a family trip altogether and it was filled with so many laughs, stories, and love. My husband and I are truly blessed with such wonderful people in our lives. Okay, I know you're probably reading this just to hear about the wedding lol. I was filled with so many nerves. I have been with Michael for nearly nine years yet I was so anxious to see his handsome self and officially make him my husband. I spent our wedding morning getting a massage, then spent the day with my mom, mother in law, and maid of honor. Let me just say yet again how thankful I am for these ladies! They kept me calm, glammed me up, and kept me laughing. Michael and his step father went jet skiing for the day. I was so happy for them and only a tad bit jealous. The closer it got to walking down the aisle the more nervous I was, but the time came and wow, nobody can prepare you for that moment. We were surrounded with family, friends and love but I didn't even notice it in the moment. As soon as I saw my husband I locked eyes and it was like no one else was even there. In that moment my love for him grew more than I ever thought it could. We made the decision to write our own vows and I'm so glad we did! Michael balled like a baby and I stood there choking the tears away. It was all so special and from the heart.  Our wedding evening was so wonderful. We danced in the sand, shared a great meal with family and partied our night away. It all went by too quickly. We stayed in Mexico until the following Tuesday so we had a few "honeymoon" days and went snorkeling, and jet skiing (twice). The days felt long but the week so short. We are already planning our return! Listen you guys, post wedding blues are a thing! Let me tell you, coming home was such a DRAG! We each had an additional day off before returning to work and it wasn't enough. As I said in my last post I work overnight at a hospital near me and all I could think of was the beach. In our normal day to day life my husband and I stay very busy with work, school, all the things that come with being an adult. In the wedding planning process I had many doubts about choosing a destination wedding but we are so grateful that we did. Not only was it so fulfilling to get married, relax together, and be with family it really taught us how important it is to stop, unwind, and come back to life refreshed. Traveling is definitely something we want to do more of, even if it means a little weekend getaway. We are actually heading to see some family this weekend. It feels good to work really hard and reward yourself with little mini breaks. The married life has been busy, but I wouldn't change it for anything! For now, it's time to get back to the gym, eating healthy, and soaking in every second of life because it goes so fast. Now that the wedding is over, I promise to update more frequently. For now, this girl needs a nap before that night shift! Love you guys!
xoxo,
Jess
